Handlebars not comfortable? Carlton didn't like the buckhorn bars on his maxim, so he installed a set of flatter bars. Unfortunately that left him leaning forward more than he cared for. The solution? These homemade risers machined out of 1" stock, giving 3" of pull-back.
Drilled through to meet the original yoke, they are rounded out for the bars and tapped to suit the original caps. Carlton advises not to make too smooth a job of the rounding -- you need a little roughness to grip the bar.
